I learned today that Omega has decided to totally drop their policy of providing
SuperCharts users with security blocks for compliance with Solution Provider
products. The security blocks plug into the printer port of your computer and
allow us to lock our tools to your specific computer. Without this protection,
our tools would be free to distribute over the internet, etc, so it is vitally
important that SuperCharts users who are interested in these tools obtain one of
these blocks. Of course, since Omega doesn't offer them anymore, this poses a
problem. They are basically advising Solution Providers to dump the SuperCharts
users, or force them to upgrade to TradeStation.
Obviously, we don't want to force anyone to upgrade to TradeStation if they don't want to. This means you will have to bypass Omega and go through us to get an extra security block. Don't even bother calling them up about it. I had to get in touch with the head of the Solution Provider department to get one. We have located a small supply of them, but may have to contract out to the manufacturer to create our own.
